The fickle world of.

Our bodies.

Stay OP and it will work. I know that slow (or no) loss can be moved along with taking more than the minimum 64 oz of water in a day. Throw in just 15 minutes or so of exercise (I started doing some modest yoga stretching) and your body will get the message..

I am too fixated on short term as well and this really isnt about a week to week loss as much as long term improvement. I have had to remind myself that not gaining is progress too. It will work but your faith is just being tested..

Have paitence.....

Great comment! I am suffering from a week 1 letdown even with 100+oz of water everyday. This time on Medifast I'm going to be thankful for the weeks I don't gain and not stress so much over the numbers. I wanted to lose 10lbs the first week but it just didn't happen for me. So here's to not gaining and more power to us!..

I'm in my 3rd month I always lose big (1-3 lbs) for 2-3 days and then stay steady/gain a little (about 1/2 lb) for the next 4-5 days. I figure it's just my body adjusting to the new weight and stabilizing. It's actually good for you because it's far less strain on your body than losing super fast. You don't to lost the weight and damage you heart or other organ. I have about 20 lbs to go and I'm losing about 2 a week. On my own the best I could do is 1/2-1lbs a week.

Be patient and it will come. This is a big deal for you body and it needs time to adjust. If you stick with it in another day or 2 I bet you will see a drop...

I almost quit 4 times today.....

This morning when I got on the scale and it said no change....

Then I figured I don't normally wake up and get right on so let me walk around a little and try again... then it said a pound gain....

Then I decided to make the cauliflower pizza my health coach sent me and I figured it was going to suck... I told myself "when this sucks at least I can say I tried." Guess what... it didn't suck. It was actually really good..

Then I called Medifast to see about my exchange and it won't be here til Thursday... I said to myself there is no way I have enough meals to last me till then. Actually, I have enough meals to last me till 4 days after it gets here..

Sigh....

I guess I am sticking to this..

When I was cleaning up after my cauliflower pizza I decided that I am tired of giving up on myself so easily... I guess I am going to have to fight for this... so fight I will...

Don't give up. I have had many times where I don't see the weight loss. I am a daily weigher. I will even weight at night and in the morning. You must keep going and focus on the success that you have already seen. Look at the 10 pounds that are gone!! If you keep going, that 10 will turn into 20, 30, 40 and so on.

Keep going you can do it...

I would recommend stepping away from the scale and only weighing in once/week if daily weighing makes you want to quit. Your first week you will lose a lot of water weight and after that the daily drops die down. Just stick with the plan and the losses will happen. FWIW, if I weigh in daily, many days the scale is up a bit and then it comes back down. Your body can easily fluctuate up to 5 pounds of water based on different things so it happens...

When the scale does not reflect the numbers I think it should, I am sad but I tell myself, "Self, at least you did not gain any. Tomorrow will be a better day." Keep with it, you will see the rewards. Instead of using the scale as a measurement of weight loss, see how your clothes are fitting. Are they just a little bigger than the were last week?..

As a daily weigher trying to break herself of the habit, I sympathize. But trust us when we say, hang in there, it WILL come off! I have never heard of anyone for whom Medifast did not work that was actually following it 100%. And if anyone was going to be the first, it would have been me with my track record of following diets perfectly and not losing.

Promise yourself to stick it out for 1 month. Doing anything less is a massive disservice to yourself. At the end of that month, ask yourself if it was worth it..

Doing Medifast was the best thing I could ever have done for myself. I lost 14.8 pounds in my first 4 weeks, and you can see in my sig how much I lost each week. I have zero regrets (except that I didn't start sooner!!!).

Best wishes to you...

Once upon another diet long long ago, I allowed the numbers on the scale to undermine my progress and a supportive friend said, "I think you have a diet mentality and what you really need to have is a lifestyle change." She said, "You are not going to just do this program and the weight comes off and everything is magically all better and then you can go back to the way you want things to be and eat the way you want to eat". I was really angry and insulted at the time, but in restrospect, she was really correct. Keep your eye on the carrot of your long term goals and keep working your program. The scale will take care of itself. If you are committed to torturing yourself with daily weights and the fluctuations with little gains or no losses that accompnay that behavior, then you need to accept the consequences of your actions...you may get mighty frustrated! I send you only the best of thoughts and lots of hugs! <3<3<3..
