My first question is Where can I buy Medifast tea in a supper market in Boston MA.? Hoping for any answer. Another question I got... I am waiting to see my surgeon for the first time. He is a 5 hour drive away. Have others done something similiar? How long do you have to stay in the area? will I have to rent a hotel room for a week or something?..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..

My.

Surgery.

Is on a different island than I am so the only way there from my home is by air or by sea. My surgeon said I will be required to remain near the hospital on Oahu for at least 7-10 days post-op. Apparently most complications occur within this time period and they want me to be close just in case. I will be staying in a hotel. Luckily for me, my parents are flying in from the mainland to stay with me...

I'm an hour away from my surgeon and my next appt is Jan. 27th I don't have a.

Date yet but that's one reason I was kinda was thinking if I should wait until after the winter (chance of snow) in case I get sick and need the doctor ASAP...

Those are all helpful suggestions. My surgeon told me I do have to be there the day before and so that means getting a room the night before. He said most people go home right afterwards. However, I am 6 hours away so it does kind of seem like I should be able to get there quicker than that if there are complications....

The point about the snow is good, too. I am thinking of waiting til march for other reasons too so this all makes sense..

Each trip to my surgeon's office is a 7 1/2-hour round trip. Pre-op I had them combine as many appointments as possible, but I still made half-a-dozen pre-op trips. I make my second post-op trip on Jan. 7. It was my only choice. My health insurer told me I could only go to certain providers.

I absolutely loved my surgeons and hospitals. I chose the smallest city I could and a double-center-of-excellence. So far so good. I wouldn't change a thing..

Books.

On CD are your friend :) If you're not supported at work that sucks because you absolutely need a full day off for each appointment. Also, I stayed in a hotel overnight the night before my.

Surgery.

And the night before my longest pre-op appointment. It was unavoidable. Best wishes to you. I think us wls folks who have to make such long trips deserve a special gold star It's not like our doctor is a 20 minute drive away.....

I am so impressed with what everyone has gone through to get healthy. This is all great advice..

Val while I only went 5 minutes down the road, I'd just like you to know that I'd travel that 7 hours by foot and back without fear simply because I was lucky enough in this life to have insurance. This weight loss.

Surgery.

Changed me from a very sad and lost person to one with more.

Hope.

Than I can fathom. I cannot wait for the sun to come up every morning of my life so I can just look at my mountain..

Merry Christmas.

I wish you the best!..

Thanks for the support, Brett..

I have one more lab that I could do here in town and I could probably get scheduled, but I am thinking about putting it off until Mid-March when I have my spring break from teaching. As a teacher, I am on a very tight budget and I do some extra work tutoring and with a grant that will have either stopped or slowed down. by then. I was shooting for Christmas break, but missed it. If I do it in January, my students will miss some of the tutoring program that is federally funded and I will miss extra money. I can get.

Leave.

For teaching and get paid but not the tutoring. The extra money pays for gas to my.

Surgery.

And hotel rooms. Also I kind of need it to live. I will have to go until my recovery is over to get another part time, temporary job in addition to my teaching. I am also planning to use the extra time to check a few more medical things out. I really, really.

Hope.

I do not have to have plastic.

Surgery.

Afterwards and I think you were recommending some excercise things. I have no one really close by to hike with, but I love to hike down by the Bosque and I am thinking of doing it alone, do you think it is safe for a woman to hike alone.?.

If you know the area and have a gun, sure. = ) Actually, pepper spray (for animals) should work. I like the.

Hiking.

Trails through the mountains. There are lots of animals in the mountains that can be scarey. Most of them.

Stay away.

From people but if they are hungry or you come too close (u don't see them) then they will attach..

If you are going to wait until March, why not just wait until.

School.

Is about out. Then you can have your recovery during the summer break. Or do it in May or something...

I didn't know you could use pepper spray for animals. I have seen a coyote from a distance and a little boy did get attacked once by a mountian lion. I love.

Hiking.

But lately have no where to do it. So you really don't think I would be coping out to wait until Summer to do it?.

Val.

PS It is just as a teacher I normally do extra work in the summers too. I get paid.

Sick time during the.

School.

Year and my extra part time work is over around March. I was thinking of doing extra work in June-July..

Has your recovery been exhausting? I work with hyperactive students so cannot sit all of the time, though I can sit down some..
