Quick question: Which diet is healthier, the Atkins, or the Medifast Diet? Looking forward for any answer or 2. Second question.. Perhaps this is me being my obsessive self, but I am a daily weigher! I am part way through my secoond week. In my first week I lost 13 lbs!! Woohoo! And certainly that was encouraging to see those numbers keep going down on the scale! However, I am half way through week two, and I have not budged. I am 100% OP, drinking way over 64 oz of H20, limiting my other non calorie beverages, and using the alloted condiments. My family does eat out often (maybe twice a week) but I have thought that I was getting good choices (mostly salads with grilled chicken, shrimp, or steak with dressing on the side).

Is it normal after a big loss like that to not have any loss regardless of being OP? Maybe this seems like a mountain out of a molehill, but I guess because I am so new into this experience, and it is hard. So seeing those numbers drop is definetly a motivation to keep going....

Thanks for your input....

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

I also just weight myself once a week. That is enough for me. I've never been one to hop on the scales often...

Well, everyone is different. My weight fluctuates day to day so daily weighing I don't really pay much attention to. I have had a couple weeks where I would have a surprising drop the day before or the morning of weigh in..

I would also suggest (if you don't already do this), to get the nutrition information from the places you are eating out and make sure you track EVERYTHING. You may not be getting enough calories or protein..

My loss has slowed down the last two weeks, so I do know what you mean... BUT, if you just stay on the program you will lose. I have read a lot of wise people on here write "Just trust the program," this is what you need to do. Know that the weight will come off in time and as long and you stay OP you will lose. Also, sometimes your body just needs some time to adjust..

I hope this helps!..

I often hang steady at a weight for 5 days straight, and then suddenly drop multiple pounds in 1-2 days, then hang steady for days again. Other weeks, I lose a little every day..

Weight loss is not an exact science. Sometimes, it's like your body needs time to adjust to a big loss, and you'll see perfectly on plan weeks where one week you lose next to nothing, and the next week lose 5 pounds. It will all average out in the end..

It's also common to experience a no-loss week somewhere between weeks 3-5..

Bottom line is, just keep sticking to the plan, and you WILL see a loss.

I don't advise daily weighing if you can break yourself of the habit. It's a fast track to frustrating yourself if you let yourself be bothered by going up and down, with what appears to be no rhyme or reason, with TOM, sodium, water weight, and a whole mess of other things that can be tossed in to make it even more confusing..

Congrats on losing 13 pounds! That's a huge first week..

I'm a daily scale hopper, but I take the results with caution. I will drop a pouned or two, in a day, bump up a few ounces, stay stuck a few days, and drop again. Just stay on plan!..
