Question I have... Which is better Nutrisystem or weight watchers? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... So last night I was faced with the inevitable...family in town, babysitter for the kids, and going out for a meal. I have been 100% for 2 weeks now and am loving it. Down 20 already.

I actually planned what I was going to eat at the restaurant and boy did it help. I ended up having a salad with vinaigrette to start and then grilled salmon (petite portion) with veggies for my entree.

The best part was that as everyone was eating their awesome desserts I was having a nice espresso (and actually liking it). This is the first time that I have ever not gone hog wild at a dinner and it felt really good. Stepped on the scale this morning and actually lost yesterday. First hurdle completed, now back to the plan...

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an useful answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could give you an answer..

Great job at dinner. This reflects the kind of decisions we are going to have to make when we hit the "real world" after we reach our goals. We had our couples gourmet club last night, something I would have gone overboard with in the past. Though I was off plan, I think I did pretty well. A little planning made all the difference...

Great job, especially this early in. Planning ahead is one of the best forms of taking personal responsibility for ourselves and our health. Stick to it...

Great job! It also helps to go ahead and ask for a doggie bag/box when you order the meal and when it comes put 1/2 in the take home box right off the bat and consume that half 3 to 4 hours later at home..

Tip for Salads: I learned this one from Larry(Mobay45)...If you can't get FF dressing, don't sweat it. Go ahead and order whatever kind of dressing you want, on the side and dip your fork in the dressing before you load the fork with salad each bite..

If you do have a bite of your wife's cheesecake, don't sweat that either, just jump right back on plan, next meal...

A big thumbs up here exfootball, Self control over food or lack there of is the reason most of us are here. If you can get a handle on that your half way there already..

Great job. I didnt eat out very often when I was on the plan, but when I did I always tried to plan ahead. Knowing what I would eat and how I would fit it into my daily planner really helped keep me from getting off track. Keep doing the great job you are doing...

Great job! I've so far avoided going off plan but of course will have to on Thanksgiving. Knowing that contolling portions and showing self control works is a great motivator. Thanks for posting this..

Great Job!.

I have found myself doing exactly the same thing when I have business lunches and dinners..

It is amazing to me the pleasure I seem to get by not eating like I use to. I think that bodes well for success in the future..

Congrats Josh; saw your pics on Facebook...wow, what an inspiration. My husband and I are in a lull right now, but we're still down 30 & 25# (him and me, respectively); of course, exercising just a little would probably help. Have a good one..

Oh, hey, congrats on your current profession...wow, always knew you'd be one of those smart football-kinda-guys...weird having you in Calc and Physics and Football!..

I missed this thread - it was around the same time I started Nutrisystem last Nov. Great post, ExFoot!! I have repeatedly confessed that I don't think I'll ever learn this so will have to stay on Nutrisystem for life (at least 5d/wk), but your post here gives me hope that change is possible. It really does makes sense. I've never done it, but maybe I'll give it a try my next time out, rather than abandoning all control, which is my usual mode..

Thanks,.

Gordon..

Nice story and thanks for sharing... I think the biggest benefit to a diet like Nutrisystem is that if you stick to it long enough and apply yourself it will give you the tools that you need in order to continue on the right path forever (*** if you continue to apply yourself) ... I think after month 4 was when I finally felt in control of what I ate. However, 9 months or so later and I still need to apply myself. this is a lifetime change not a temporary one and your story reminds me of this...

I think the key , at least for me, is to plan out your meal. I went to the website for the restaurant I was going to. I checked out their menu on-line to see what type of chicken and salads they serve. I ordered the grilled chicken breast and a house salad with the dressing on the side. It worked out well...

I've been eating non-NS foods a large proportion of the time. Now, all I have to be disciplined about is alcohol. Having one drink out even with additional wine doesn't affect that meal - it's when I get home that I go snack happy and have more wine. Without the alcohol the non-NS foods work - but for the evening meal the Nutrisystem entrees seem to make a difference. For a permanent change this is definitely a skill we need to master!..
