Got a question, hope someone can answer... Which of the three is the better choice? Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, or Nutrisystem? Hoping for any comment. Another quick question... Today is a great day for me to start the Mindset Makeover. Last night after starting the evening with a martini and peal and eat shrimp; I had wine, more than a little bread, fish and vegetables (but with a bit of cream sauce) and when I got home some pine nuts, some fruit, some cereal (munchies - you get the idea) and Oh, some more wine. For me it's lent and my first Friday was NOT according to the book (any of the books.

). For me a little alcohol loosens me up for more deviations from my plan. This morning, I'm motivated and ready. I've backslidden enough. Join me in my restart..

I want to lose 15 pounds.

I've been bounding around 200 to 205 since November - as of this morning I'm 205 (I was 203 yesterday). So far, losing the last 10-15 has been more of a struggle than losing my first 100! I will never dismiss those who only have a small amount to lose again - it's all relative..


On this 28th day of February. 2009, I FitTom pledge that I will work through all of the weeks of the Mindset makeover to give myself the best possible start on my new lifestyle..

I changed the pledge a bit so that it fits where I am now. I believe that this will be a NEW lifestyle because I've started to deviate and get sloppy about the lifestyle I adopted last year..

Discussions: I will be starting a weekly thread throughout the thirteen weeks. The thread will be available on Saturday mornings. Please contribute any of your thoughts in any way that makes sense to you..

S.M.A.R.T. goals. I'm not someone who has ever written down my goals although I've always been a "mental" goal setter. So here are my goals..

* Find one of my Nutrisystem food diaries and record everything today.

* Walk my 2+ mile course today.

* If I'm tempted to eat off plan this evening - call a Nutrisystem counselor FIRST!.

(after more than a year on the program - I've NEVER called a counselor - this will probably keep me from even going there.

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could give you help..

My tracker came from w8book - just click on my tracker and sign up. Scroll down to the bottom of the admin page and copy the BBCODE - paste it into your signature..

Your post fits here - your glitter might cause issues. I would be happy for you to participate - but recognize that women dominate 98% of these boards. This is the one area where men feel it's worthwhile to participate..

Thank you for your compliments - this last year was truly a miracle and the health benefits have been amazing. I feel like I've lost 35 years as well as the weight. Evenings are definitely the challenge - so far I've been giving in far too easily - but this worm has turned.

Better-40 also reported that he can only see the into. Did you do the downloads etc for the Intro? I don't know that it matters but I participated in all the sections..

Anne, apparently you can get to week one - did you do all the sections of the Intro?..

Hmm. Week 1 isn't available for me yet either. I did my intro page on the 21st, so it definitely should be right now. I did all the things, too, so that's weirdt..

Maybe there's some info in the Land of the Women. I'll check...

When I asked, here is the answer I got in an e-mail from the counselor:.

"We are in the process of making the Mindset Makeover accessible on line. Not all the chapters have been loaded yet and some individuals are unable to access any chapters. This is a problem we are aware of and are working on a solution as quickly as possible."..

It seems that the Mindset Makeover page is working better today and week 2 is already available. Give it a try - and join me. It's already making a big difference to me and has helped me get back to the serious decision I made last year. It's as if a switch has been thrown solidly back to the quality side from the wavering spot. Bottom line Saturday morning I was 205 after drinks and an appetizer on Friday night..

This morning I was 198. When I see how Wizz and Michael have come so far so steadily I know it can be done. It's just shocking what 300-500 extra calories do to your DAILY weigh in!.

I'm selfish enough that I want all of you to join me - in getting into and staying into our healthy lifestyles...

Just ran through week 2. Most of it I'm already doing, but they're so right about external triggers. For example I always seem to get hungry when Im watching sports on TV over the weekend. Likely because I used to eat a bag of cheetos or potato chips while watching games. Thankfully my favorite team stinks this year so I haven't watched many games, but limiting myself to eating in the kitchen or dining room is something I hadn't thought of...

This was a great idea Tom..

I have now been able to complete week 1. I have the option to do week 2, but I'm going to take the whole week to build on the skill sets of week 1 again. Goal Setting and back to the basics and doing the MM correct this time..

All too often I see posts on how to add additional food items and substituting and saving your protein or fat servings from snack time for later. This just isn't what Nutrisystem has intended IMHO. There is a reason the program works and deviating from it to manipulate it to work with our own familiar eating habits is exactly what Nutrisystem is trying to make us stop doing. Weight may be still coming off for those who are *manipulating* the program, but it won't last and you will be right back where you started in a matter of time, as well as creating bad habits again..

My goals:.

1. 4 days a week of intense Cardio for 45 min. with HR at 133-140 BPM.

2. On days I don't do Cardio, walk the dogs to park and back..

3. Stick to the plan 100% for 14 straight days, no substituting or food replacements...neither the time or type..

I know I'm supposed to keep it to 2 goals, but I think goal #1 and #2 go hand in hand for me already...

I also got the option to do week 2, strange but sticking to week 1 for now. Will start week 2 Next Monday to keep in flow..

This week write everything down that is eaten and exercise at least 5 days...

Ron, you're bang on - it only took a few days back on plan to make a major difference in my hunger, weight, and determination. I dropped off the add pounds (the easy pounds) from 205 on Saturday morning to 198 yesterday. Today I'm holding. Let's all synchronize - I will be putting up the thread for the new week on SATURDAYS. Since we're just starting, I hope everyone will be able to get on that week. That said, I did look ahead - I'm going to download the internal/external worksheet so I have some data for next week.

I'm still concentrating on checking off my food diary and eliminating deviations...

You need to click on the HOUSE or Home tab to far left and then click on MY PROGRAM tab to get to Mindset Makeover. It is strange how you can not get to all items from all pages with the same tabs on each page...

After hitting 205 last Friday and starting the MM on Saturday, I've dropped back to 198 and am holding there. I hope all of you will share what's happening and what your learning through this process. How well are you following the plan? How are you doing with your goals? Have you filled out your pledge? How serious are you about your decision (do you have to fight yourself to avoid straying - or do you just not stray)?.

Thanks for inspiring and motivating me to do this lifestyle in a sustainable, joyous way!..
