My first question is Which site is good for cooking and Medifast recipes? Many thanks for any answer. Second question.. Highlight of an article Jerry shared, bears repetition:.

"While some of this variation of weight loss may be due to the.

Surgery.

, interviews with patients suggest that much of the variation is due to variations in dietary and.

Exercise.

Patterns. People who do well tend to.

Avoid.

Snacks, eat healthy types of food, and be active.".

Get it?.

1. Stick to a healthy Medifast food plan..

2..

Avoid.

Snacks..

3..

Exercise.

!.

Sound familiar? It means that once the.

Surgery.

Has done it's thing we are back to behavioral and emotional control, at which we were not accomplished, before.

Surgery.

..

We better have made the lifestyle changes, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth necessary, during the first 18-24 months, or we're screwed!.

Conquering Addiction with Spirituality.

Google: "Compulsive Overeating and Spirituality" for 1000's of articles. My personal take on spirituality is Higher Power 12 Step, no defined deity, but one of the person's "own understanding..."..

From the article:.

"Psychologist Jim Orford once noted that the reversal of a pervasive and persistent problem such as addiction may require a comprehensive "spiritual change" in attitude, character, and values. Noted psychiatrist Carl Jung described such spiritual awakenings in a similar fashion, as huge rearrangements of personality where "ideas, emotions, and attitudes which were once the guiding forces are suddenly cast to one side, and a completely new set of conceptions and motives begin to dominate." Clearly, when the faltering of ones inner self manifests itself through addictive behavior, the path to healing must begin by healing that inner selfthe spiritual self.".

I can't say it any better...{:>}..

FYI that's why I think 12 steps works for about 12 steps!.

A man had best have.

Faith.

In Him who put the boundries on the sea, the stars in there place and named all of mankind till the last one is born. It is narrow, it is simply Christ..

Read it and weep losers.

Lucifer..

Hmmmm...what, in your rapidly moving mind, excludes one's belief in Jesus Christ, the Judaeo-Christian God and the Holy Spirit from a Higher Power of "one's own understanding?".

Or the natural God of creation, or Buddha, or the Great Black Bear in the sky? That's the non-religious part, it is open to all, with an emphasis on spirituality and now religious worship....

BTW where does the Christian religion fall on excessive drinking? Oh, did I type that out loud...lol..

I kind of agree with both of you gentlemen as well as Roseanna Danna from the old Saturday Night Live (Gilda Ratner)..

I haven't even had.

Surgery.

Yet and still going through this process is definitely causing rearrangement of my inner self..

I had gone to therapy before and made some progress over the years and I am a devout Christian, actually have a little ordination paper and do a women's ministry once a month with my friend (I teach).

I am becoming aware on a deeper level how my childhood abuse affected me and how it was related to my Medifast food addiction. Getting freedom from our past and addictions is kind of like peeling an onion... you get one layer off and there is another one. And this is all before.

Surgery.

I can still eat as much as I want to , just trying not too. I imagine more and more will be revealed to me as I lose the use of Medifast food as a friend, a comfort, etc.\..

Wow, Val, very brave and selfless share! Only the secrets we don't own can hurt us. Hearing the Hurt Helps Hasten the Healing!.

I believe the more we get the goo of spiritual infection out, the less we'll need that BigMac in 2 yrs, when the boogeyman of Medifast food medicative behavior tries to return!.

Cleanse your secrets with the light of day, and they will hold no more power over you!..
