Quick question: Why is fruit bad for you on the Medifast Diet? Hoping for any response. Another question on my mind: Other topics will be discussed that may not be appropriate for the easily offended..

Please discontinue reading Tough Love threads if they are going to cause you to become upset..

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++.

Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstinence from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

8. Be honest with ourselves and our Medifast family and to stay 100% OP at all times. We also swear that WHEN (not if) we are having a tough time and feel like we may eat SLUDGE, to come to our Medifast family first and ask for support and help to get us through the struggle..

Getting the banner:.

We accept anyone who follows the Medifast plan 100% as written, but not limited to, the Quick Start Guide. We recommend participating on the team for 1 week prior to requesting the Tough Love Banner to ensure that compliance to our bylaws is do-able for you..

Anyone can start the thread. If youre the first one here in the morning, copy this opening post and create a post for the new day. Anyone is welcome to join, and if folks have additional ideas on how we can commit, we are happy to hear them!..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

Happy Earth Day, Tough Lovelies! Do something earth-conscious today!.

A fresh pot of Komodo Dragon just started, so grab a cup!.

I'm so excited to report that I did my prescribed stretches last night before bed and got a full, uninterrupted night of unassisted sleep! No flexeril, no sleep aids, nada, zilch, zippo! I'm an all different kind of rested this morning!.

I'm off to get the day started and go catch up on the posts I missed last night. Rise and shine, morning glories!..

You may have to share those stretches. My sleeping pill is to take a nice hot bath in lavender every night. Nothing like a good night's sleep....and a chance to sleep in. I'n not going to lie, that really made my day today. Lots to do today. Why is it always like that when we have a day off from school? I'm off to exercise early, as it is suppose to start raining....again..

Barb, it's very much like an upward dog yoga pose, except I don't hold it for long. I started with ten slow repetitions. It's probably a combination of getting some motion into the joint and the cortisone injection. But I'll take it!..

Morning, TLers! Thanks for the coffee - both pots!! I'm not even trying to keep up with you all in here - I miss you, but it causes me less anxiety if I just don't open the door. Off work today, and I, too, have errands galore! Most in preparation for our trip in 10/08/16.

I'm holding steady in week 3 of transition. Body is adjusting to the new food groups and I'm loving have a little more variety..

I'm going to take a page out of Penny's book this weekend and just crank out some earrings. I usually spend way too much time designing and redoing and agonizing over perfect balance. But I'm just going to string together some dangles to hang on my 'traveler' wires so I'll be all coordinated and accessorized on our cruise.

Time to stifle the left brain and let the right brain have at it! First step is downsizing all the outfits I have laid out to pack - problems of abundance as DH tells me. Between baggage restrictions and small closets and dresser space in our cabin, I have to choose carefully..

I have so many cute things I bought last summer when I hit goal the first time, I just want to take them all! I think hit every sale last year. My summer wardrobe is huge - too bad our summer weather doesn't stick around to match.

Have a great day Lovelies!!..

GOOD MORNING!.

I got a great night's sleep last night. I didn't have to wake up early and slept until 8:30; even my 8 year old woke up late, he typically wakes up at the crack of light. My dog Ruby is now booked to take her drive across the country (I don't want to freak her out in an airplane, plus when it's that hot they typically won't fly dogs anyway). She leaves here on June 4th. Now I just have to plan my Mom's cars trip and our plane tickets. (Oh and get this house ready to rent)..

Today my Mom and the boys are going to color Easter eggs, I'm going to finish shopping for Easter gifts and maybe try on some clothes..

Have a great one!..

Good Morning all you fabulous Tough Lovelies..

Stock market is closed today, so I get the day off (yay). Can't believe that the Wee Beastie is still sleeping. He wore himself out in the yard yesterday, playing. Quiet house...morning coffee... just the click of my fingers on the keyboard, and the clocks ticking. Silence sure can be golden..

Penny.

, so glad you finally got a restful night sleeping. When you don't sleep well, it throws everything off..

Barb.

And.

Melissa.

, I am looking forward to going to Goodwill and making a drop off. Sadly, I was apparently wearing clothes that were just too small to begin with, so I am still wearing them, but they do feel a bit better..

Cindy.

, are the two 14 year olds locked in your basement? LOL Sometimes, that is a good place to keep teenaged boys. (I kid, truly, we have been blessed with our boys, they still get/got that funny teenage boy smell, but they are intelligent, polite and responsible boys/men. ).

Yia Yia, you must be so excited for your trip! Where are you going?.

Anna.

!! Welcome back, we have missed you. I'm glad the house hunting is over for you. What a PITA. Soon enough you will be all situated in your new digs on the west coast..

Zoe.

, I read the doggie discovery you made! Good for you! Our kitty likes to drink out of the toilet as often as she can. We are not sure why. She has one of those automatic waterers, so she always has clean water. From the time she was a teeny kitten, she would "dig" in her water bowl, and then lick her paws.(she sometines picks up kibble and eats it that way too) Needless to say, we learned very quicky that her water needed to be on a tray. Otherwise there were puddles..

I had time to write a book this morning, so I probably have missed 17 more Tough Lovelies whilst writing, so, Good Morning!!..

My goal for today is to figure out what all this crap on my desk is and what I need to do with it. I have been cranking out invoices in record numbers the last 2 days and it looks like a paper bomb has gone off in my cube..

Penny - So glad you got the rest you needed. I'm going to have to give those stretches a shot, because lately, I'm not sleeping so good..

Jan - Where are you guys time-wise now? It's coming up pretty quick, isn't it?.

Anna - SD is gorgeous. If I had to move back to So. CA, it would be there (if I ever win that stewpid lottery) or San Clemente..

Melissa - I'm hoping for a rusty fork-free day myself. I've had way too many of them this week..

I had a great dream last night..

My DH and I had landed in Maui and were waiting in line to get our rental car. I noticed that I had the wrong luggage. DH looked through it and found out it was the luggage for a police office (he's a police officer as well) and he was trying to decide who to call to switch the luggage back..

While he's trying to make phone calls and do what is right, I was hiding the identification in the luggage so it would take longer to get my luggage back. I was telling my DH that I would need to go out and buy all new clothes now..

When I told him about the dream this morning, he just laughed. Here he was trying to do what is right and I just wanted to go shopping for new clothes. Priorities...

Lots of little projects being thrown at me today, kids. Fun times under the Big Top..

Thanks for the comments on the bracelet. While I'm doing some mindless stuff, I'm creating patterns for some designs to try this weekend. Necklaces and anklets and bracelets... oh my!.

As soon as I get out of here at 2, I am stopping for gas and then meeting my husband for our lunch date. And then stopping for some more jewelry supplies after that. It's gonna be a good afternoon!.

Claire, trust me I've tried EVERYTHING known to mankind for cramps! Here are a few:.

Diet tonic water.

Coffee (high in potassium).

Pickle juice.

Buillon.

Morton's Lite Salt (in a shaker on my night stand).

A bar of soap under the sheet at the foot of the bed.

Calcium.

Magnesium.

Water.

A heating pad.

A warm shower.

Unfortunately, none of those helped MY particular cramps because they were a reaction to a pinched nerve. But for your garden variety charley horse, one or more may help...

Good Morning!.

I slept until 8:00... ahhhhh! I needed that!.

Yesterday was full of cravings that were driving me crazy! Not sure where they came from. I think it's a combo of TOM (don't even get me started on my crazy Medifast TOM), seeing all the Easter sludge, and my massive sweet tooth rearing it's ugly head. So, I drowned my cravings in 120 oz of plain water and mio water, chewed a piece of gum until my jaw hurt, and looked the other way when near sludge. IT WAS ROUGH, but I made it through the day completely OP. I was sitting in the parking lot of the grocery store browsing our thread yesterday for motivation before entering the store. It helped! Love my iPhone!.

I hope today is not like that. I just ate the new southwestern eggs. I think I overcooked them because they were a little rubbery. I always put 1tbsp of fresh salsa on my eggs, so that helped. Between the eggs and the salsa, it had a nice little kick..

Penny- So glad you got a good night's sleep. That can make all the difference in the world some days..

Melissa- Good morning! Never fear... There are Easter presents, etc everywhere!.

Zoe- Funny story about your dog. I love it when dogs are quirky! I can't stand that "forgetting something" feeling! Between my calendar in the office and my phone, I usually have everything written down at least once. But when I get that feeling... ugh!.

Cindy- My little brother (don't get me started on how I have a brother 23 years younger than me) turns 13 tomorrow. He has a weekend of plans with friends. Oh boy... Too bad my dad doesn't have a basement to put them in..

Penny & Fuzzy- I've done yoga a couple of times (and hot yoga). It was a great workout and I felt great afterwards. I definitely recommend it! Penny- I can see how it helps you. However, I felt I needed to wait until I lost a good chunk of weight before trying it again. I was too fat for several of the poses and had to modify. Hello embarassing!.

Jan- Yay for doing well on T. Good luck on downsizing the amount of clothes! I'm so jealous of your trip!.

Anna- I've done the "moving across the country" thing 3 times. I helped my dad move from CA to Boston, and then I moved from CA to VA and back. It sounds like you are doing great! When do you actually move to SD?.

De- What's OMFSM? I can't figure that one out..

Claire- I had a small phase of cramps after I started MF. If I get all my water in, I'm usually fine. Hopefully you find a cure!.

Lisa- 60lbs! You are soooo close! Congrats! PS- Watched your classmates on Ellen. They did a pretty good job..

Good morning, Sherry, Mia, MT, Sassy, Freya, Tara, and everyone else I've missed..

Have a fantiastic Friday!..

I didn't mean to imply that I'm "doing" yoga or going to any kind of yoga class! Not yet anyway! I tried it a couple of times, and while it was fun and I surprised myself with my balance and coordination, I was bored s**tless. It was just too ummmm.... yeah..

Oh, can today just be finished!? I've done several "favors" and as soon as I finish one, there's another waiting for me. Hellooo... there are no other cars in the parking lot. We shouldn't even be here..

Mia, that's ridiculous! Must be still a lot of people going to see Hop. And lots of (other) people are off today. We're headed to Crossgates to eat and I'm glad that we're going after the lunch crowd and before dinner...

Penny - The only yoga I've every done is my abs yoga. It is boring, but doing it right before bed is actually very soothing and relaxing. I not only get a kick azz ab workout, I get some relaxation in there too...

Ok, off to my ahi tuna caesar salad! and my tall dark and handsome hubby who is all clean shaven and fresh out of the shower since he took a half day. Maybe I'll just skip the salad and prance him around the mall for awhile.....

Most ceasars consist of romaine lettuce, parm cheese, ceasar dressing and protein (if it's your choice). Not sure how ceasar dressing would go with cod, never had it, but it would just be the lettuce, fish, dressing and a bit of cheese if you have the condiments for it...

I'm walking like I'm 90 today. I'm working from home, one last time. Hi ladies!.

I haven't had time to read the thread. I just wanted to pop in and give my weekly lost and give you guys an update..

I'm down 2 lbs this week. I'm not very happy about it but I'm also not disappointed. That's 20 lbs total in 3 weeks...which I am very happy about. I've been drinking too much diet soda (even though I drink 120+ oz of water a day) and I think that might have some effect on my loss. Also, it's the dreaded WEEK 3 DUN DUN DUN so...I'll take 2 lbs..

I've been struggling a lot emotionally this week on giving Olive up. I've pretty much cried myself to sleep the past 3 nights because I've become so attached to her and I feel like she chose me as her owner and I would be doing something wrong if I just gave her up...so I finally decided today I'm going to keep her..

The only reason I did not intend on keeping her is because I'm moving back to Denver, CO in the next year or so and pitties are banned in Denver county...but there are plenty of other counties close enough to Denver that I could live in without having too much of a drive..

She's the sweetest little thing and she took to me really quickly. Olive and my current dog get along so well and I am just way too attached to give her up..

So...I'm keeping our little mascot after all!.

I will check back in later tonight and get caught up on the thread. I hope you ladies have a glorious day!..

Ladies I'm so bored today I'm almost dead from it..

I have to stop and get some easter sludgegredients after work because the store I went to last night didn't have what I needed, and I can only handle so much being out with the general public without snapping. All I really want to do is go home, eat steak and turnip fries, and play a video game a coworker just gave me, but I promised to bring dessert for Easter and I also have to stop at the feedstore to get what is essentially pamprin for horses. Pamprin. For. Horses. My life is so weird..

And, I'm doing all this for my inlaws, because I am very, very lucky to have wonderful inlaws who treat me like they raised me from birth. Plus, I'm kind of like Eva at Green Acres to them, so they are endlessly amused by my citification...

You are very lucky to have great in-laws. The only thing I would have done for my MIL is give her a hard shove off a steep cliff! I know, that sounds horrible, but the way that I was treated and bad mouthed for simply existing excuses my epic meanness! 31 years of her trying to get my DH to divorce me, trying to pay me off to leave him and my kids, disliking my children because they were mine, and even going so far as to accuse me of DH not even being the father of my youngest because he is the splitting image of me. <shaking head> Why? Because I was not the choice she had made for her son and I wasn't Catholic. She came unglued when we got engaged, and you should have seen her when I got preggers! The Uber-Catholic mother immediately told me to go get an abortion. She passed of cancer last November, so now John is trying to mend the relationship between me and his dad, which sadly has been broken beyond repair because of her...

My relationship with my MIL was bad as well. When I was diagnosed with cancer, she turned to my mom and said that they needed to make arrangements to take care of my DD, who was 4 at the time. I never got over that or the fact that she would come to my house and make me feel guilty when I couldn't clean and take care of her after a chemo treatment when all I could do is throw up.
